We have now started our rights respecting journey at Hermitage Primary School! We had a special assembly on Friday 16th September led by Miss Griffiths to learn more about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and how we are going to respect these rights in school.
We were also introduced to some special people… The CORE (Champions Of Rights Education) who are our rights respecting schools committee members as well as our school rights respecting mascot who we helped to name… Rights Respecting Woofles!
Each class has completed their first rights respecting mission which was to create a Class Charter showing the rights they have chosen to focus on in their classes. Take a look at the Class News pages to see all our hard work!
We have also been introduced to our first Right of the Month which is Article 15 ‘The right to choose your own friends and join or set up groups, as long as it isn’t harmful to others’. This is a great right to learn more about as we start our after school clubs at Hermitage Primary.
