ECO Week – P5 Seasonality Charts (2017)

P5 have been learning about seasonality. They have been researching when certain foods are planted and when they are harvested during the year. They used what they have learned to make fantastic seasonality posters to help other children and classes decide what to plant and when to do it.  

ECO Week – P6 Bird Boxes (2017)

P6 have been creating homes for birds in our playground. They have also been carrying out bird watches and creating fact sheets showing the birds that can be spotted in our playground.

ECO Week – Recycled Art (2017)

During Eco week, classes enjoyed using recycled materials to create a variety of pieces of art. These fantastic creations included P2’s pencil sharpening art, P4’s bottle flowers, P1’s recycled material art and P5’s mobiles. Waste Free Wednesday (March 2017)

During Eco Week 2017 the children were encouraged to reduce waste from their lunchbox while participating in ‘Waste Free Wednesday’.  Waste at the end of the lunch session was weighed and the winning team, the team with the least amount of waste at the end, were awarded with an extra play time.  

Google Virtual Reality – ECO Week (March 2017)

As part of Eco week we had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from Google.  The visitors took the children on a virtual reality expedition with an Eco theme using the latest virtual reality technology.  

ECO Quiz (March 2017)

As part of Eco Week the children’s knowledge on all things eco was put to the test.  Pupils were arranged into mixed teams (Primary 4s & 5s and Primary 6s & 7s) to participate in the Eco Quiz. A fun fact filled afternoon was had by all!
