The weather showed up along with 400 athletes today as East King Street Park hosted Hermitage Primary’s annual Sports Day. It was an action packed afternoon as 28 teams competed in 7 different events. Right from the starting klaxon, their was speed, agility, accuracy and passion on show, as each team vied for team and house points.
In the team competition, Team Olaf ran, threw and jumped their way to a bronze medal, while Team Ariel pipped them to the runners-up spot. Out front, and taking gold, were Team Donald Duck.
As crowds gathered for the closing event, it was the Earth team who grasped glory in the P4-7 relay event. While, for the first time since 2010, Mars were victorious in the overall house competition.
Thank you to the nursery children who took part in the new P1 entrants event and to the parents and families for supporting the children on this special day.
A final word of thanks to Mrs McMurdo, Mr Redstone and Martin Caldwell for organising such a fun-filled afternoon. The ice-lollies were great!
