Mrs Jackson introduced the pupils to this month’s RRS Article of the Month.
Article 31: Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.
Mrs Jackson talked to us about the different ways that we can relax and play as well as ways to take part in activities that celebrate our culture and the different types of expressive and creative opportunities we have.
Mrs Jackson also introduced us to a charity that helps children in other parts of the child participate in their right to play.
Right To Play transforms the lives of over one million disadvantaged children every week across Africa, the Middle East and Asia through the power of sport and play.
They train local community leaders and teachers to become volunteer Coaches. They then coach children in specially designed games.
We are looking forward to donating the profits of the Primary 7 Friday tuck shop to this special charity and will be discussing in our classes how we think the money could be spent. We will also be discussing the importance of the right to play and the ways that we can respect this right of others.
