We have just finished week three of our after school club Relaxation Station. Primary 3 & 4 on a Tuesday and primary 5 on a Thursday. The club gives the children fun taster sessions of mindfulness, yoga, hand reflexology, activities about how our brains work and helpful ways on how to express feelings in a positive manner.
Over these last few weeks we have been balloon breathing to relax our minds and bodies, bird spotting whilst using our senses, cloud watching to keep our imaginations active, outdoor yoga for stretching and strengthening our bodies and we’ve been making interesting art designs of our brains to open our thinking of what our minds are doing. The children have also been keeping a journal and taking activity sheets home to practise so they can be mindful throughout all their day and not just at school.
I hope in the future the children and I can share some of our activities with you and we can invite you to our afterschool club so you can have a go to.
