Primary 7 put on a stirring display of thought and emotion tonight as they showcased their individual pieces of art to a packed gallery of parents and invited guests. As the gallery buzzed, many visitors were struck by the variety of ideas and the depth and complexity of thought that underpinned each piece. From 3D art to sculpture, weaving and books, pupils portrayed their feelings on their upcoming transition to high school through a variety of media and techniques.
The event was brilliantly augmented by the use of the Aurasma app which provided a video commentary for each piece when a smartphone camera was pointed at the exhibit.
Our thanks to Kyla and James for opening tonight’s event with a wonderful speech and to Helensburgh Art Club Vice President, Sapel Tagore-Evans, for her kind, thoughtful and inspiring words.
We would also like to thank Mr Redstone for all of his hard work, skill and patience in readying each piece for display and Miss Thomson and Mr Mulvenna for organising the event.
Huge congratulations to each and every primary seven who exhibited their work tonight. There is an inherent bravery in putting your thoughts, feelings and emotions on display.
