Primary 7 enjoyed a busy and fun filled Health Week with lots of activities to help make healthier choices to ensure a happy mind and body in the future. We had an interesting session learning all about Quorn and the history behind making this protein filled food. We then cooked using plenty of healthy ingredients and Quorn meat free products. Some of us could not tell the difference between ‘real’ chicken nuggets and Quorn nuggets! To continue on healthy eating we made carrot cookies using a recipe from World War 2 where rationing meant no eggs and not a lot of sugar. Despite having not a lot of sugar we all agreed they were very tasty!
We also looked at taking care of our bodies with exercise. We were out in all weathers to practise cross country, the warm ups are exhausting! We were also pleased to take part in an energetic Zumba lesson, where you really had to know your right from your left! Our week ended with a circuit session where we had to complete each station for a whole 3 minutes, really tough but lots of fun.
A fantastic week.
