As part of their Democracy topic, P6 recently took a trip to Edinburgh to meet with their local MSPs at the Scottish Parliament. Following a tour and a talk from the education officer, the pupils had a Q&A session with local MSPs, Jackie Bailie, Maurice Corry and Ross Greer before getting to sit in the public gallery for a live debate.
Earlier that morning, P6 spent some time at the National Museum to investigate the Victorian era artefacts prior to kicking off their new topic in the next learning block. It was a great day out with the parliament really bringing the children’s learning to life.
Thank you to our parent helpers who very kindly offered to accompany us and to our local MSPs for taking time to meet with us.
