Briarlands Farm welcomed P2 this week as they took their farm learning outdoors and onto a working farm. It was a blustery day, but thanks to the knowledgeable staff, one packed full of learning and outdoor fun. Farmer Katie and Mildred the tractor guided groups of children through the farm where they got to meet a prize bull, some young calves and see the recently baled hay and straw which was being stored in giant lofts for the winter. There was some hands-on feeding time with the smaller animals, a little play in the park and time to test our jumping skills on the huge inflatable pillows before we headed back to the bus. We dodged most of the showers but P2 are a hardy bunch and a little rain wasn’t going to stop us having fun on the farm.
A very special thank you to our team of helpers and to the very welcoming staff at Briarlands Farm. It was a fabulous day of learning and fun on the farm and the children had a wonderful time.
