P2: Celebrate World Book Day (2017)

P2 celebrated World Book Day this week with a range of fun activities to help promote the joy and importance of reading. On the day, we arranged a book swap, joined the whole school’s Drop Everything and Read initiative and made special caterpillar bookmarks. Over the week we got to choose our own reading books, have an outdoor read-through of our play-scripts and learned about alphabetical order with the help of marvellous ingredients from our class novel. We also had the opportunity to sneak some maths into World Book Day when we made an accurate and far more precise marvellous medicine by creating Grandma’s (alternative) measured medicine. Although in the end, we decided it was far more fun to glug the remaining ingredients into the pot in the same manner as George! It was a fab day of book themed learning which we wanted to share. We hope you enjoy the photos…
